Prioritization of Urgency of Need For Service (PUNS) PUNS is an “assessment process” used by counties for requesting funding from the Office of Developmental Programs. If you have not completed a PUNS form, you will not receive Waiver services. This form is the tool used for planning and funding the services and supports you need. The PUNS is the official reporting form used by the state to gather numbers of people waiting for services. The PUNS form should be filled out with your input by the Supports Coordinator. The PUNS is broken down into three categories:
Emergency – person needs services immediately
Critical – person needs services within one year
Planning – person with needs more than one year away
Please refer to DPW's PUNS informational site and the prioritization process for additional information.
